Paul Mercs Concerts is pleased to present Grammy® Award-winning jazz singer and pianist Diana Krall at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in Portland, OR on Friday, August 31, 2012.
Krall kicks off Grammy® week with a string of special performances. On February 9, she joined Paul McCartney to commemorate the release of his new album, Kisses on the Bottom, with a once-in-a-lifetime live streaming performance that took place at the famed Capitol Studios, where much of the new album was created.
On February 10, Diana Krall performs three songs at one of the most prestigious events held during Grammy® week, the MusiCares® Person of the Year tribute, which will celebrate McCartney’s artistic achievements and philanthropic work.
Krall caps off the week with a performance at the 54th Annual Grammy® Awards, which will take place on Sunday, February 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS Television from 8:00pm-11:30pm EST/PST.
Since the release of her 2009 Grammy Award-winning album Quiet Nights, Diana Krall has been travelling the globe, touring in Canada, Europe, UK, USA, Russia, Australia, South America and the Middle East. In addition to her touring and appearance schedule, the acclaimed artist took a short break to produce her first record for another artist – Barbra Streisand’s Love Is the Answer – which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart upon its release.

$4500 Raised in the Ultimate Deep Purple Experience Auction for the Lakes District Tragedy Relief Fund
The Deep Purple Ultimate Experience Auction in support of the Lakes District Tragedy Relief Fund was a huge success!
The town of Burns Lake needed the help of its neighbouring communities, and it got just that!
The winning bidder was Lorna Niven and Niven Contracting with a final bid of $4,500! It went right to the end with a three way bidding war. Her bid won her 2 tickets to Deep Purple with meet & greet, a Deep Purple Music Library, and Epiphone Les Paul Special II guitar signed by Deep Purple!
99.3 The Drive would like to thank Deep Purple, Long & McQuade Musical Instruments, and Paul Mercs Concerts for coming together with this amazing package for a very worthy cause. And of course a big thank you to Lorna Niven and Niven Contracting for giving so much and showing our neighbours in Burns Lake that we are there for them in this difficult time.

On Friday January 20th, the town of Burns Lake was forever changed by an explosion at the Babine Forest Products sawmill site.
The town of Burns Lake needs the help of its neighbouring communities to recover from this, and on Friday February 3rd it will get just that.
99.3 The Drive, Deep Purple, Long & McQuade Musical Instruments, and Paul Mercs Concerts have come together to help raise funds and awareness for the people of Burns Lake.
Starting at 6:00 AM February 3rd, 99.3 The Drive will auction off ‘The Ultimate Deep Purple Experience’: 2 tickets plus a chance to meet members of Deep Purple, a Deep Purple Music Library, and Epiphone Les Paul Special II guitar donated by Long & McQuade Musical Instruments and signed by the band!
To make bids, please call (250)649-0993 beginning at 6:00 AM. The phone lines will be open until 5:40PM, with the winning bidder announced at 5:45 PM. Follow 99.3 The Drive on Twitter and the Facebook Fan Page for updates on the current bid throughout the day. There will be continuous live updates starting after the 5:00 PM News, until the bidding is closed. All proceeds of the auction will go to the Lake District Tragedy Relief Fund.

With fifteen studio albums, three live releases, numerous compilations, a boxed set and thousands of concerts under their belt, Canadian rock band April Wine have become enormously popular throughout Canada, the United States and the world. Best known for hit singles such as “Just Between You and Me” and “Sign of the Gypsy Queen”, April Wine were inducted into the East Coast Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2010.

Paul Mercs Concerts Encourages Donations And Support For The Humane Society International/Canada
Paul Mercs Concerts is thrilled to share breaking news from the Humane Society International/Canada.
The Humane Society International/Canada began an historic adoption process of over six hundred dogs. In September, HSI Canada rescued hundreds of dogs from the largest commercial breeding operation in Canada. As of November 24, an agreement was reached at the court, which granted custody of more than 600 dogs - including puppies born since then – to our partners in the Government of Quebec. With the adoption process being moved forward immediately by HSI/Canada, these hundreds of dogs never have to go back to living a life of misery. They will finally be on their way to loving homes of their own.
For the past two months, HSI Canada provided emergency care and shelter for the dogs as their needs were so great after being neglected for such a long period of time. Operating the shelter costs thousands of dollars per day.
Paul Mercs Concerts would like to encourage you to make a donation to help the Humane Society International/Canada provide for the care and attention of these dogs until each one finds a loving home.

Paul Mercs Concerts is pleased to present Canadian tour dates for the legendary B.B. King.
Fifteen-time Grammy Award winner, Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Member of the Blues Hall of Fame, B.B. King is inarguably the most imitated of living blues guitarists. His influence on music around the world is incalculable.
Since B.B. King started recording in the late 1940s, he has released over sixty albums, many of them considered blues classics. He developed one of the world’s most readily-identified guitar styles. B.B. King has mixed traditional blues, jazz, swing, mainstream pop, and jump into a unique sound. His singing is richly melodic, both vocally and in the “singing” that comes from his guitar, ‘Lucille’.
