"It is extremely rare for me to do a long, extended tour like this, and I am super pumped to hit the road,” says Brent.  “A different town and a different stage every night.  This is what being a stand-up is all about.  This, and poor late-night snacking choices."

Brent Butt discovered at a young age that being funny was a good way to get attention.  He pursued a career in stand-up in his twenties and within months, was headlining the top clubs in Toronto.  Within a couple of years, he was touring internationally and appearing at major festivals.  Brent’s television specials quickly secured his reputation as one of the funniest people in Canada.  He received numerous Canadian Comedy Awards, including “Best Male Standup”.

Brent went on to create his own sitcom, Corner Gas.  The television series was an instant hit with unprecedented ratings and numerous accolades, including an International Emmy Award nomination.  Broadcast in over twenty-six countries, including the U.S., and on air for six seasons, Corner Gas went on to become Canada’s #1 comedy and Brent was named “Favourite Male Performer” by TV Guide readers.

In addition to Corner Gas, Brent Butt created yet another sitcom called Hiccups, which aired for two seasons and garnered multiple LEO awards.  Corner Gas and Hiccups are the two highest rated Canadian shows in the history of the Comedy Network.  Recently, Brent has made the transition to movies, having completed production on his new feature film NO CLUE, which is scheduled for release on March 7, 2014.

Written by and starring Brent Butt, NO CLUE is a comedic, yet dark thriller, that combines the best elements of traditional murder mysteries with a gritty, contemporary feel, as it follows an unwitting hero, who's in way over his head.  NO CLUE is being distributed in Canada by Entertainment One and internationally by Myriad Pictures.

Heart

Heart & Friends: Home for the Holidays

Vancouver, BC ~ Paul Mercs Concerts is honoured to present “Heart & Friends: Home For The Holidays” in Vancouver, BC on Friday, December 13 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre at 8:00pm.

More than three decades ago, Heart started their career as one of Vancouver’s finest young bands.  Now Ann and Nancy Wilson are returning to the city they love so much for their first-ever Canadian holiday concert.  Fans will be treated to a unique show that mixes holiday songs with iconic hits plus a few surprises.  Joining in on the holiday fun will be Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin, and Grammy Award-winning Producer Ben Mink.

Ann Wilson and her younger sister, Nancy Wilson, first showed the world that women can rock when their band Heart stormed the charts in the ‘70s with hits like “Crazy on You”, “Magic Man”, “Barracuda”, “Straight On”, “Even It Up”, “Kick It Out”, and many more.  Not only did the Wilson sisters lead the band, they wrote the songs and played the instruments, making them the first women in rock to do so.  Heart continued topping the charts through the ‘80s and into the ‘90s with mega hits such as “These Dreams”,  “Alone”, and “Never”, to name a few.  Over four decades and fourteen studio albums, Heart has sold more than 35 million records; spawned twenty-one Top 40 hits; has sold out arenas worldwide; and has profoundly influenced the sound and direction of rock music.

In 2010, Heart released their first album in half a dozen years.  Red Velvet Car received both critical and commercial acclaim, debuting in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart.  In 2012, Ann and Nancy released a memoir, Kicking & Dreaming: A Story of Heart, Soul and Rock & Roll, which became an immediate New York Times best seller.  They also released a definitive box set, Strange Euphoria, a carefully considered anthology of greatest hits and best-loved songs set alongside deep catalogue treasures, rarities, demos, and live performances on three compact discs and one DVD in a deluxe box set.  In addition, they released a new album, Fanatic, which features three hit singles: “Fanatic”, “Walking Good”, featuring Sarah McLachlan, and “Dear Old America”.

In September of 2012, the Wilson sisters were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and on April 18, 2013, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, which was broadcast worldwide on HBO.

Tickets for “Heart & Friends: Home for the Holidays” are available now online at www.ticketmaster.ca, by phone at 1.855.985.5000, or in person at all Ticketmaster outlets.  Ticket prices range from $62.50 to $72.50 to $85.00 (plus applicable fees and service charges).
